I enjoyed playing this game without the worry of clicking on some buttons or making use of a joystick. I liked how the game took a different approach in that storytelling and immersion were the front and center of the game and from my experience playing it, the game certainly has lots of elements that support this. I believe with more different endings and choices, the game could evolve into a tale that players would try to keep on playing to find out all the different endings or have their friends play to see what choices they would make.
This game was so unique from the other games we saw in class which is so cool. I think the animations could have been improved a little bit. Maybe The animations could have been moving or honestly just less pixelated. Besides that I thought the game was fun. I like text based games and so when I found out that's what you all were making I got so excited because I spent a lot of time playing "Episode" as a teenager.
Not only did I enjoy the multiple choices I had with the story but I was surprised to see how much original artwork was in the game and how well it was done. I liked that you decided to take a more narrative approach to the game than most other groups, very well done!
I had said this in class, but I really love games that allow the player to choose the course of action at pivotal points in the storyline. Some of the decisions that are made seem like there is no discrepancies between which is the "correct choice", so it would have been nice to see some more options that fell in the grey area. Also, in scenarios where you have to help someone, like the archeologist, it would be cool to see that the "correct" choice was actually the wrong one and has a negative impact on the game play.
I also would suggest that the puzzle games be more in line with the game. Instead of sorting the photo, maybe it could be a maze that you have to travel through inside of the pyramid and you need to find the correct route.
I admire the fact for a text-based game, this was super complex! I really love narrative based games and I feel this would be something I'd play with my friends to see each different result we get.
I think this game is super cool because it is both simple yet complex. It reminds me a bit of the oregon trail game, but for mobile. I really liked how y'all gave the player so many choices. I also thought the art was great. One suggestion might be to give a rating at the end that summarizes how unethical/ethical the player was. Might be a cool detail to add. Great work overall!
i love the fact that this group really thought outside the box and made something different than the obvious "shooter game." i love the Undertale undertones to it. this game also reminded me a lot of Netflix's Bandersnatch. the visuals in this game were stunning and i love how you used more washed out colors to achieve that "dusty western" look. really great work everyone!
I really enjoyed this game and I think the level of detail is great. I love how the different choices you make really impact the outcome of the story. I also think the minigame puzzles were a nice touch
I really like how engaging the game is, as you continuously have to pay attention at which decision you want to make which will alter the course of the game.
The only improvement which I think could be made is with the background, possibly have some clearer images.
But otherwise great game!
It's amazing how it is a pixelated art style but it is still very detailed. I love the integration of mini-games; it makes the whole experience more dynamic. Also, just the amount of different ways you can play makes it fun, too.
The only thing I think could improve is the way the text looks. Sometimes the background makes it a bit hard to read.
Also, maybe you can add some animations.
I don't really play text games but I thought this was quite enjoyable. Having different options to choose really felt like I was in control and made it fun when seeing something that I caused.
I love the whole story!!! It reminds of the game Detroit: Becoming Human. I think this game is really completed and is ready to be published. Also, I really love the minigames, since it is rare to see minigame in this type of game, and I think that is a great innovation. My only suggestion is to give player options to start in the middle of the story . Overall an excellent and amazing game!!!
I really like that you strayed away from the typical type of shooter or violent game that has been seen in many ways. I like the many options that you have. It makes it easy for the game to be replayed and that is a feature a lot of games do not have. I think the only thing I would suggest is trying to make the puzzles fit into your game more. I think they are nice to have but they are kind of out of place right now. Overall great job.
I have seen these kinds of game back to days when I was still at primary schools. While nowadays games are more like a combination of making choices and other themes, few games are totally based on making decisions(like WalkingDead), I think the game has a good drawing of the character, and the background, and different choices will result in different endings which is great.
Suggestions will be the puzzle part can be changed to a format that is more compatible of the desert theme.
It is rare to see this game type, and I believe it is a great challenge and innovation. I am surprised that I used to think your game is merely choosing selection and having different endings just like a gamebook, but the interesting interaction and puzzle game embedded truly make it stand out. Also, All the different pixel art absorb me into this interesting adventure. A suggestion would be replacing the default unity UI, like the button, which might make your game looks more consistent. And if possible, I think if there is an automatic reading function for this game would be really helpful for people like me who don't like to read.
This game reminded of one of those personality tests you can do. I loved the story telling aspect and how there are many different paths you can take and how the back-end of your game analyzes what kind of person you are. The mini games also engaged the player and very interactive. The pixel arts can be more defined but I think it also adds some theme to the game. Great job :))
I like this story-telling style game. The player needs to be careful with their every single decision because it will influence the next storylines. However, if the sprite can be more detailed, the game will be more prefect.
I love story-driven games like these where your choices matter a lot and I wonder how many endings this game has. The artwork is great and having mini-games included helps keep the game fresh. If you want the game to feel more immersive I recommend having a few animations here and there.
I really like the uniqueness of this game and the ability to "choose your own story". Even though it is a simple text based game, it is still all the more fun. I think adding some animation or video might make the background/story more interactive and immersive for the player.
The artwork for this game is amazing and all the choices leading to multiple different endings offers the player a lot of re-playability, which is great. This reminds a lot of the beginnings of gaming, where a lot of games were text-based. The UI is simple and clean. Overall, great story, art, and the game feels extremely fleshed out.
I love the pixel art of the game, it reminds me of those old school chose-your-own-adventure games for early PCs. It might've been mentioned in the feedback during the presentation, but it'd be great if you leaned into that by using 8-bit styled text fonts and pixelated the pictures used for the puzzles. The number of events and options to choose from in the actual gameplay are also really varied, it's come a long way since its older versions!
This game has such a unique idea and I have always loved the "choose your adventure" type of game. I think the storyline was well written and immersive, and the artwork is amazing - feels like a storybook. The mini games also add to the game. If the art style can be more consistent, ths would feel even more complete! Great work.
I really loved seeing the improvement of the game from beta to this final version. Also the plot line in the game is so fun and intriguing I was really into the game as it was being played. I also really liked how I could either be super mean and just choose the path of survival of the fittest or I could be a nice guy and just be nice to everyone. Also really liked the background and how it changed for each new scene. Good work!
I really like the visual style of the game and it looks like a lot of work has been put into creating the many different images to work with the text. I noticed that the player gets right into the game when the app is opened so maybe having a start menu first would help. Also, the visual style of the puzzles seems noticeably different from the rest of the game.
I really enjoyed how choosing different options results in different paths. The butterfly effect is cool and it makes me wonder how much time was spent on creating all these different paths for the story. The sprites for each scene was also really cool. The puzzle elements are nice and it'd be nice if it fit the overall aesthetic of the game. I'll definitely try to go through as many paths as I can and see what other story lies behind the scenes.
